I also took the Volks SWS 1/32 He 219 to the Nationals and actually had to finish it there in my hotel room over the span of three nights. lol  It didn't win anything, but I really didn't care because I got to show it to Mr. Shigeta (Volks owner) and the rest of the attending Volks staff (Mrs. Shigeta was there too!).  They all seemed to like it and there is even a picture of me (sporting a crazy beard) with Mr. Shigeta holding my model on his personal blog!  So cool!  www.zoukeimura.co.jp/en/sentim…

I built it as a cutaway with even one of the engines cutaway further to show off the internal pistons, etc., so it took a LONG time to build.  I'll post pics up here eventually, but I'm keeping it exclusive to Aeroscale for the next few months.  If you want to check it out, it can be seen here...  aeroscale.co.uk/modules.php?op…
The Kshatriya got 1st Runner Up in the e2046 contest, so I'm cool with that.  More importantly, I got TWO Golds at the 50th IPMS USA Nationals.  One for my FSS dio and one for my Pinky Death Saurer, which y'all will see someday whenever the Zoids anthology is released.  Considering I only took four models, getting two Golds is pretty nice (especially when one considers that this was an international show with almost 3000(!!!) entries).

I've got one more show in Baltimore in November and then I'm retiring from competition-- I figure I don't really have anything to prove anymore.  I might enter something now and then, but my days of building specifically for competition will come to an end.  Racking up awards was important early in my pro modeling career, but enough people know who I am now, I don't really need the advertising that winning awards brings.

After November, I can go back to modeling for fun again. lol

1/72 Kshatriya (G-System)

Painted with Vallejo, Gunze, and Gaia.   Full stainless steel internal pins were used to eliminate the need for "cheater" holders on binders.

1/72 Kshatriya 1
1/72 Kshatriya (G-System)

Painted with Vallejo, Gunze, and Gaia. Three shades of clear green were custom mixed for the "candy" style metallic finish over the metallic base coat. The colors are actually blocked out as on the stock color scheme (dark green body, light green binders, etc.), but got brighter just by the nature of having a bright metallic backing.

Full stainless steel internal pins were used to eliminate the need for "cheater" holders on binders. A chrome rod was used to mount to the base. A mirror base is used so the underside details of feet, etc., can be seen. The mirror base is covered in most pictures to keep light reflection from washing out the shading on the reflective surfaces.

**I'm currently not taking on new commissions because I'm too swamped with current projects**

I'm a hermit who leads a happy, simple life with my fiancée (professional YA novelist Jaclyn Dolamore) and three cats.

An old Gundam/ anime fogey who saw First Gundam on Betamax (lol) in 1980. Been building models for about 30 years, professionally for 10 of those 30.

I've produced a couple of animated shorts for anime conventions:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G3GxU… www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZvE3F…

And two animated history shorts (History With Dade).
www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9kgAB… www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LC1Ub…

I've won awards in some model shows and have been published in Finescale Modeler and Animerica (won three mecha design challenges). I've written some fairly long articles for Modelshipwrights.com.

But after a massive case of burn out/ pre-midlife crisis, I just chill building models and act as a history adviser/ plot sounding board for my girl's novels (Magic Under Glass, Between The Sea And Sky, etc.).

Thanks for reading this self-congratulatory diatribe and I hope you enjoy my stuff! Take care.
